Employee Assistance Program
Southern Health is committed to improving the health and well being of its employees and has introduced a new service called, "PEOPLE ASSIST' helping employee's personal and professional growth.
Resolutions RTK is an external company partnering with Southern Health to enhance the health, wellbeing and performance of employees. Offering personal coaching and counselling services plus the support for a variety of work related and personal problems that may be affecting employees at work or at home. Assisting employees to work through problems with the help of skilled professional either face to face or over the phone. A conflict coach helps understand the conflict response and develop new ways of managing conflicts in the workplace.
These services are available to all Southern Health's employees and their immediate family members (parent, spouse/partner or children).

Global Corporate Challenge
This annual event is the world’s largest corporate health and wellness event. It combines exercise, fun, a team based challenge, and ‘virtual’ interactive experiences in some of the most amazing places on earth. Each day you record the number of steps you have taken through a pedometer and after entering them to a website, a distance is calculated and you are on your way with a virtual tour of the world. Along the way you find out about customs, facts, food, politics and the locals! Of course as you go, your fitness improves. The more active you are the further you travel.

Lifestyle Management Seminars
Part of our commitment to our people is to offer education and information that provides support towards achieving a healthy work/ life balance. Our Lifestyle Management seminars are available to all staff and cover a wide range of topics to help get the most out of life. The seminars run at a number of our sites and are varied in what they cover. For instance you will find seminars on healthy eating, importance of having a budget, maximising your superannuation, making the transition to retirement, understanding fad diets and weight management plus many more.

Professional Development Program
Southern Health runs a Professional Development Program under the auspices of the department of Organisational Development and Learning. The program provides a wide range of in-house professional development courses which are available to all our staff. Scheduled learning programs are offered for staff, management and executive development programs, customised training, and consultancy in performance management as well as organisational development.
