Southern Health’s Emergency services are provided across three sites:

• Monash Medical Centre, Clayton
• Dandenong Hospital
• Casey Hospital

All three Emergency Departments are open 24 hours/ 7 days per week and are staffed to receive all GP referrals. 

However as the three hospitals provide different inpatient services it is recommended that GPs consider the likelihood of admission and send the patient to the hospital with the required inpatient service to prevent secondary transfers. Please note, that patients with community acquired illness not requiring monitoring are frequently admitted and treated at Casey Hospital.
