This clinic DOES NOT provide services for Children under age16
GP Investigations to be performed If you wish to discuss any other investigations prior to referring your patient please discuss with Assoc Prof Dr Stephen Opat and Dr Hang Quach.

Please provide a copy of all baseline blood tests with referral, except if they were performed via Southern Health Pathology.

All patients should have baseline testing with:
Full blood count, Biochemistry (inc calcium, Liver and renal function) and:

For patients querying Multiple Myeloma or plasma cell dyscrasias: Serum Protein electrophoresis, Serum Free Light Chain, LDH, beta-2- microglobulin, and Calcium

For patients querying Lymphoma: Patients with lymphadenopathy for investigation should ideally have a diagnostic lymph node biopsy prior to the first consult. Lymph node biopsy should be either an ultrasound/CT guided core biopsy or excisional biopsy but NOT fine needle aspiration. Please discuss with the above clinicians if uncertain.

For patients without lymph node enlargement flow cytometry on the peripheral blood if a lymphocytosis is present may be helpful.
