Contraceptive counselling
| Description of the services | For patients requiring family planning, including the insertion of IUDs, Implanon, counselling for tubal ligation, counselling regarding contraception options in the presence of medical conditions such as epilepsy and counselling for termination of pregnancy. As this clinic is free, public services and places are limited, it is necessary to provide the service to those who are unable to access or afford a private service. Places are therefore booked firstly to women who meet the following criteria: Gestation less than 14 weeks on the day of the procedure Teenagers Victims of sexual assault (rape) Pre-existing medical or surgical condition Severe financial difficulties (eg both partners unemployed/health care card) |

Non contraception problems can be referred to other Gynaecology clinics. Women who have had a previous Termination of pregnancy (TOP) at Southern Health. |
