How we communicate
Each shift is supervised by a senior nurse and doctor and they are accessible via a dedicated phone line. We do not give out generic advice regarding health issues and refer such questions to Nurse on Call, which has been specifically set up by the government to address this need.
We will try to supply your GP with a letter on discharge from the emergency department. As technology becomes more secure we will increasingly transmit this to your doctor by email or fax. However, you may be handed a letter to pass onto your GP. Please remember to do this as it contains your health record of attendance.
