The community health service is committed to health promotion/community development and the prevention of ill health. Working in partnership with our community and other organisations, staff provide a holistic approach to health care and health enhancement with an emphasis on the individual. Programs include:10,000 steps
Clients can have a pedometer on loan for four weeks from the Cardinia-Casey Community Health Service Cranbourne to increase physical activity levels to 10,000 steps a day.

Casey indoor walks
Part of Cardinia-Casey Community Health Service’s physical activity initiative, three indoor walks organised in partnership with The Division of GPs, YMCA, City of Casey community representatives and three shopping centres. Supervised walks are a “go at your own pace” activity led by a qualified fitness instructor and suitable for all levels of ability.

English conversation group
Open to all persons wishing to improve their English skills and to socialise.

Increasing access to computers and the internet
A partnership project to increase access to community-based computers and the internet. Access to low cost computers for purchase in the catchment, in partnership with Green PC.

Needle and syringe program
A confidential, non judgmental and accessible service supporting the safe disposal of used needles and syringes. Promotes safe injecting drug use and reduces the risk of HIV, hepatitis B and C.

Women with disabilities and family violence
Working in partnership with family violence and disability agencies servicing the Shire of Cardinia and the City of Casey to increase awareness of family violence issues as they relate to women with disabilities.
