MonashHeart is Victoria's largest provider of acute cardiac services, treating more heart attack patients than any other service.
We lead the way in heart attack care, with our very successful MonAMI project; a combined Ambulance Victoria and MonashHeart project which ensures rapid emergency angioplasty treatment. Our MonAMI project is now being implemented across Melbourne as a landmark initiative to save lives.
MonashHeart is the luminary site for the Aquilion One 320-slice CT scanner, the first and only such scanner in the southern hemisphere and in the first year of operation is one of the busiest in the world, scanning over 900 patients with coronary artery and cardiac structural disease. Using the scanner new models of care have been developed which vastly improve diagnosis, cut waiting times and reduce need for invasive procedures.
MonashHeart has pioneered many advanced cardiac catheterisation laboratory procedures to reduce deaths and improve quality of life and has been invited to transmit these innovative procedures live via satellite to prestigious cardiology conferences around the world.
MonashHeart is an internationally recognised leader in cardiovascular research, undertaking 'first in man' clinical studies and world class research.
Our services
We provide the full range of adult and paediatric cardiac services including ECG, blood pressure, loop event and holter monitoring, exercise stress testing, cardiac device clinics, echocardiography, cardiac CT, private cardiologist consultation, interventional and cardiac rhythm services.
