Going home
- Discharge is at approximately 10am every day after consultation with treating medical staff
- Some patients may be transferred to a Transit Lounge or Day Treatment Centre prior to leaving the hospital
- Medication and further appointments will be provided on discharge by our staff, if appropriate
- Staff will organise medical transport, if applicable, or taxi services will be arranged at the patient’s cost
- The Discharge Lounges are available 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday at :
- Monash Medical Centre Clayton -The northern entrance toward the rear
- Dandenong hopital - next to the emergency department.
- Casey and Kingston Hospitals - ward staff will advise on the discharge facility
- It provides services to patients being discharged. Services include booking all non-emergency ambulances and Veterans’ Affairs taxis on behalf of all wards and departments
- Further information for discharge can be obtained from the ward staff or calling the hospital reception.
