Research

Research is integral to Southern Health achieving its vision for better health in our community and in particular to improve its care and the outcomes for its patients and clients. Southern Health offers unique opportunities to advance care through clinical and scientific research across the full spectrum of health care. The Research Directorate oversees more than 600 research projects across Southern Health departments and its partners.

Strong medical, clinical and translational research is pivotal to achieving our vision of providing better health for our community. It is also an integral part of the continual development of our medical, nursing and allied health professionals. Some 400 scientific and clinical staff with approximately 200 postgraduate students are engaged in basic and clinical research within Southern Health and the Monash Health Translation Precinct. A strong governance framework overseen by our Research Advisory Council ensures all research is conducted in accordance with best practice research governance principles.

Make a difference to clinical care by donating to Southern Health Research.

We are supported by the generosity of individuals, businesses and community groups. With your help, we can continue making discoveries, developing technology and improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
