Assisted care and housing for the aged (ACHA)
ACHA helps elderly people access secure and affordable housing.
We assist and support elderly people who are on a low income, are frail or at risk.
We help people to stay in their home over the long-term.
Who is eligible for ACHA?
ACHA is available for people who live in these areas:
- Bayside
- Greater Dandenong
- Kingston
Those who may need our services include:
- People who are over 65 years and on a low income
- People who are renting in private or public housing, rooming houses or caravan parks.
- People who do not own their own home or have assets.
- People who are homeless or near homeless.
- People who are living in unsuitable, unsafe accommodation.
- People who are sharing or boarding with family or friends.
What does ACHA do?
ACHA offers practical assistance in accessing safe, secure and affordable housing.
Some of the things we may do to help include:
- Negotiate housing needs
- Speak up on your behalf
- Help with forms and documentation
- Find the right services for you
- Help you settle in to your new surroundings.
ACHA will also help organise further support if required.
Cost
There are no costs for ACHA services.
