If you are cared for within Southern Health under one of the units of the Surgery Program, we focus on providing you with the best possible care and closely communicate with your General Practitioner (GP) and referring surgeon. The surgical teams aim to fully embrace and practice the core values of Southern Health.
To make sure everything runs smoothly for you, we may ask that you attend our pre-admission clinics where you will be assessed by a medical staff member and an anesthetist prior to your elective stay at the hospital. You will be provided with patient information, education regarding your procedure and access to other health professionals to provide a smooth transition when you leave the hospital after your surgical care.
