New Emerging
Researcher Fellowship 2008
An important outcome of the Southern Health Research Strategy was the
development of the Southern Health Emerging Researcher Fellowships, first
awarded in 2007, specifically targeted at emerging researchers employed within
Southern Health.
The primary purpose of the Fellowships is to invest in early career individuals
with significant potential for a research career and for whom a fellowship would
contribute to that end. The purpose of the Fellowships is to provide a career
development opportunity for those who may not have a proven record of research
and significant salary support for eligible SH employees. SH employees in all
health related disciplines including allied health, medicine and nursing are
eligible to apply.
A new opportunity has recently arisen, whereby a supplementary Emerging
Researcher Fellowship can be awarded in 2008. This is a "one off"
opportunity which will involve the same application and selection process. The
Fellowship of $30,000 is for a one year duration.
